Due to her attitude in assisting directly and securing assistance by the event organisers with a view to the medical evacuation of the Finnish athlete Eeva-Liisa Hakala, injured during the long distance race, the Portuguese Orienteering Federation and the organisers of the Final Round of the World Cup Mountain Bike Orienteering and the World Master Mountain Bike Orienteering Championship hereby express their gratitude and appreciation to the Spanish athlete from Monte del Pardo Club – Eva Para.
We would like to thank her, and praise her noble attitude. Eva has not hesitated to assist her fellow competitor to the detriment of her own results in the competition, and has tirelessly sought help to the injured athlete. Thank you Eva Para.

Anton Foliforov, Marika Hara and Finland Relay Team were the big winners of the World Cup while the Portuguese Carlos Simões was in focus in the World Masters Championships, reaching the gold medal for the third time.

Czech Republic wins Mix Relay

During last morning of WMMTBOC2013, Czech Republic was the big winner of Mixed Relay full of emotion. With Olga Vinogradova in top form now, the Russian team got the lead on the first leg, but Jiri Hradil, first and finally Krystof Bogar, were stronger than Ruslan Gritsan and Anton Foliforov, recovering from the initial disadvantage of three and a half minutes to get the victory in 2:15:52, against 2:19:46 of their direct rivals. Great sensation of the season, the Finns - with Susanna Laurila , Tuomo Lahtinen and Pekka Niemi - ended on the third place, ten seconds behind the Russians.

Krystof Bogar and Susanna Laurila win Long Distance

Susanna Laurila (WE) and Krystof Bogar (ME) won the Long Distance race of the MTBO World Cup in Casoto (Sines). In World Masters the new Long Distance Champions were: Carlos Simões (M40), Veronika Cseh (W40), Per Gustavsson (M50), Carolyn Jackson (W50), Heikki Saarinen (M60), Monika Bonafini (W60) and Pertti Nyberg (M70).

Middle Distance Russia Times Two

Anton Foliforov and Olga Vinogradova get the triumph on the opening stage of the World Cup MTB orienteering 2013’s final round, held in Portugal. In the World Masters Championships, event which takes place in parallel with the World Cup, the name of Portugal has been designed to the highest level by Carlos Simões, the H40 Class's big winner.

Held this morning the first of three stages of World Cup MTB orienteering 2013’s final round that, by these days, occurs on the municipalities of Sines, Santiago do Cacém and Sines . A Middle Distance tightly contested , with the first place on the podium, both male and female, colored similarly with the red, blue and white of the Russian Team. With a race superiorly controlled from start to finish, Anton Foliforov placed on the ground all his physical and technical skills, winning with a record of 47:31, 1:07 less than the Czech Krystof Bogar, the second placed. With this result - and even if only marginally - Foliforov takes the lead of the World Cup, revealing crucial the race tomorrow in order to determine the winner of the 2013’s edition .
